Hablar por boca ajena. Cielo: Coda is an exhibition about traces, a narrative of alien experiences, a meta-narrative of a meta-narrative. Its inspiration comes from “Cielo”, a non-fiction novel depicting radical outlooks from the 1980s, ultimately showing how telling stories implies explaining what others do. The show is the sequel of La balada de Wendy entre d’autres, cielo preview, visual mode, which was displayed at ADN Platform last year and translated to an exhibition format from the first chapter of the novel.
In Hablar por boca ajena. Cielo: Coda, artists Antonio Ortega and Marc Caellas have taken as a starting point the coda of “Cielo”, whose meta-narrative in its turn explains the places from which the novel is constructed. Marc Caellas strolls around a staged New York in which living traces from others are left, and reminds us, through performance, of all the places we have never been to. Antonio Ortega, in his turn, replicates iconoclastic and radical attitudes by appropriating the demeanor of other artists. By doing so, he emulates the figure of the writer, letting things be.
