Womankind is an ongoing project that started in 2010 in which the artist uses digital collage to remake archive images. In a sort of an oxymoron, the artist elaborates what could be called "fictional historical documents." This selection of photographs shows us different women undertaking industrial work, interacting more or less explicitly with other images of women in the workplace in a kind of background-figure play. Through visual speculation, María María Acha-Kutscher reviews certain stereotypes of the representation of women in art history to generate new feminist imaginaries.
