In 2018 Xi Jinping signed more than a dozen trade deals with Cuba and at their meeting, the president of Cuba, Raul Castro, sang ‘The East is Red’ - the de facto national anthem of the People’s Republic of China during the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s.
