‘Replacement Points’, a series of twenty photographs, addresses the tension between free speech and censorship surrounding recent political and social movements by alluding to the covering up of political slogans found on walls. The photographs are shot in cities and suburbs around Spain and show freshly painted walls that not long before, featured words of protest. The artist brings these words back to the surface by including them as subtitles under each corresponding image, decoding these seemingly neutral images, and challenging the erasure of politicised voices.
