For several months, Núria Güell worked with eight underage individuals who had been victims of abuse and sexual exploitation in Mexico. Güell showed them around fifty religious artworks from Mexican museums, primarily belonging to the colonial period. Among all the artworks, the minors selected the ones that resonated with them the most and interpreted the depicted scenes based on their own experiences.
In the second part of the working process, the artist contacted a family of former pimps, a mother and her two sons, who had found God and transformed into Christian pastors while serving their sentences for their crimes. Güell also invited them to interpret some of the paintings from their experience as exploiters and abusers.
The interpretations of the minors and those of the former pimps formed the basis for an audio guide that accompanied the exhibition curated by Núria Güell and the minors at the MUAC in Mexico. The working process also resulted in the film "Una película de Dios" (2019).
The annexes consist of 14 videos that serve as a kind of appendix to the project. Through these videos, the artist attempts to bring the exhibition displayed at the MUAC closer to the audience, which is unrepeatable due to the presence of original paintings loaned exceptionally for the occasion.
